Les Pritchard

This September 18th our community held a service of memorial for Les at All Saints Woolahra where he was married to his great love Greeba. Les is known as the Father of the Club as he was the first captain and worked with Milne, Appleton, Fraser and Fountain, the "old Guard" to make the Club function in its formative years.

He was a man who learnt polo in Singapore where as the security officer for Qantas, he helped passengers escape from a crashed Super 'Cony' and received the highest award for bravery from the Queen - but never talked about it.

He climbed to base camp on Everest, was a keen tennis player and recently was the oldest Rugby Umpire in Australia, umpiring the juniors up to one month before his passing. He was a good singer, knew his music and was always an absolute gentleman.

We, in the Windsor Polo Club will miss him a lot.

John Harvey Milne

To Charles, Elizabeth and Peter, on behalf of that little group of men all those years ago, in particular John Wayland and Graham McGregor, we want you to know how proud we are to have been in his company. John Milne enriched our lives.
